Sex & Mugs & Rock ‘n’ Roll – IT RETURNS

For those of you who have joined us recently, let me take you on a little journey. A history lesson if you’ll indulge us. Last year, we boldly, and madly (and possible naively) embarked on a fundraising journey so awesome, so exciting and so bloody scary, that when it was all over we collapsed on our sofas, nursed our hangovers and said never again. It took only an hour, a huge plate of bacon and a strong cup of coffee to know that in actual fact, we were going to want to do this again.

Sex & Mugs & Rock 'n' Roll

What if we told you an event exists in history where loud rock bands meet cheeky cabaret? Where beautiful melodies meet sparkly nipple tassels? Where gorgeous cupcakes meet jaegerbombs? Where your ticket price supports the education of girls in rural Cambodia (who would otherwise get sold into slavery or exploited)?

What if we told you that this type of event wasn’t just confined to the history books? That it was happening again this November, but that it is bigger and better than anything that has gone before? You’d be interested, right?

Well get interested. RIGHT NOW. Because hot on the heels of 2011′s sell out smash Sex & Mugs & Rock ‘n’ Roll, it is coming again. And this time we’ve turned the volume up and made it even more cheeky.

Save the 24th November in your diaries, where you’ll be heading on over to Archangel on High Street Kensington to be treated to some of the best entertainment London has to offer. Tickets will be going on sale shortly, but until then, here is a little sneak peek of some the acts you can expect on the night…

Sex

Being huge fans of all that is burlesque and cabaret, we have some sensational performers for you on the night. International Burlesque star, comedienne, vintage pin up and founder of The Cheek of It! Burlesque school Lady Cheek will be shimmying and sashaying her way through a spectacular fan dance with elegance and sensuality in spades. She will be joined by the seductive and beautiful Miss Chantilly Lace, bringing her shaking shoulders and wiggling hips direct from Kent ready to turn you all into a wild frenzy!

There are rumours that we will also be joined by burlesque starlet (and sometime editor of The High Tea Cast) Ruby Woo…but you’ll have to buy a ticket to find out!

Mugs

As usual, your awesome night out with be hosted by the two mugs from The High Tea Cast. You shouldn’t have to ask.

Rock ‘n’ Roll

We have scoured the country for the finest of rocking music for your delectation and come up with a bumper selection which is sure to get your dancing, moshing and well…rocking in equal measure! Kid Champion, fresh from supporting The Vaccines (yes…WE KNOW!!)  will be bringing their passionate song-writing and catchy guitar riffs to Kensington, just for you. With radio plays by the BBC’s Steve Lamacq and Huw Stephens, as well as a live session performance for the BBC these are a headline act not to be missed.

They’ll be joined by Go Zilla, plonking themselves firmly between the genres of dance, trance and rock ready to get your heart pumping and your bodies jumping. Already with air play on BBC Introducing, this is a three-piece who are going places. After they’ve played our gig obviously.

We’ll have some more music to announce in the coming weeks, with everything topped off by a killer DJ set until 2am.

With cakes, a glorious raffle and some other surprises up our sleeves, why wouldn’t you be chomping at the bit right now to grab a ticket?!!!

The ticket price is £8 in advance or £10 on the door and all the proceeds from everything on the night will be donated to Janie’s School. So your night out basically helps to build a school in rural Cambodia, giving girls an options aside from sexual exploitation and slavery. It is a pretty great way to spend a Saturday, to be honest.

So. Save the 24th November 2012 for a night out to remember. You won’t want to miss Sex & Mugs & Rock ‘n’ Roll!
